Community Manager Appreciation Day 2013

Community Managers in the picture on #cmad2013

For the third year in a row, we’re celebrating Community Manager Appreciation Day! CMAD recognizes and celebrates the efforts of community managers around the world using social media and research to improve customer experiences. At InSites Consulting we celebrate the complete team as we’re all contributing to happy and engaged customers by turning them into the best consultants companies can hire.

It has become a tradition to celebrate this across our offices with local treats, from breakfast in Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK to customized cake in Romania and cheesecake in New York. But this year we’re also sending our love to everyone in our Global Community Moderator Network! Over 150 moderators in over 30 countries help our clients to connect with customers all over the world. A big thank you to all of them!

Although food is fun, we also like to share tips and tricks. In addition to our own books, we made a selection of 5 books as a source of inspiration for community managers.

  • Buzzing Communities: How to Build Bigger, Better, and More Active Online Communities
Step-by-step guide to create thriving online communities. From participant activation and engagement to user-friendly software.
  • This is Service Design Thinking
Discover the basic principles of service design and apply the tools in your research design.
  • The Decision Book: 50 Models for Strategic Thinking
Want to tackle life’s biggest challenges or just the analysis phase of your research project? These 50 models are at your service!
  • Presenting to Win: The Art of Telling Your Story
Produce and deliver effective presentations, the  shortest path to applause.
  • Designing for the social web
Embrace social interaction and make your web site or application successful!

Show your Community Managers some love and give them a hug! At our headquarters in Ghent we took this quite literally by creating a Pool of Appreciation. Catchy music and an overload of red balloons are making sure everyone feels the love today!
