Your role

What is it about

We gather consumer insights (what people think, feel and how they behave), analyse them, offer solutions and report these back to our wide range of global clients. In short, we help our clients to understand their customers better and provide them with information to shape the future of their brands. Your role as a Graphic and Presentation Designer is to support our Multimedia and Web Designer who is based in Australia and currently services the APAC region. You will be tasked to execute a wide variety of creative projects including creating visual identities and assets for our online research platform the ‘Square’, online media banners to drive sign-up to research tasks and assets to advertise online creative competitions. With the support of the Multimedia and Web Designer you will be required to assist our Research Consultants with client-facing PowerPoint reports and presentations. In this instance you will need to digest information and devise alternative ways of presenting it to ensure impactful communication. In addition, you may be asked to create infographics/visual summaries, multipage documents such as pdfs and booklets and various other digital and print-based outputs. You will be able to read Chinese and design with Chinese content. You’ll also be able to explain what a piece of Chinese language communication means to non-Chinese speakers. You will understand the diverse cultures within the APAC region and be able to create communications that resonate with them. You’ll also be able to explain cultural difference and nuances, when required, to team members who aren’t familiar with these regions. You are required to maintain a high level of consistency and quality from project to project whilst demonstrating creative problem solving and excellent time management. You’ll need to be able to interpret briefs and propose solutions that strike the balance between creative and realistic. You will work directly with the Multimedia and Web Designer, other members of the Creative Team and Research Consultants, many of whom will be based in different time zones.

  • Understand the objective of a project and what a consultant is aiming to achieve on behalf of the client
  • Put ideas into action
  • Be realistic about what can be achieved in a given timeframe
  • Understand the various stages of a project and manage your time to meet deadlines
  • Liaise directly with team members, honouring different time zones, and maintains a good relationship with all
  • Demonstrate best practice visual communication skills in order to highlight key messages to the target audience
  • Understand different file types and which files are required by the consultant and/or client based on final application. Select the correct programmes to work in as required
  • Adhere to brand guidelines and identify any additional materials required to do a job to the required standard
  • Provide correctly set up files and ensure timelines are honoured when working with printers
  • Take care and pride in the work you deliver
  • Work with Research Consultants at amends stage and action feedback
Your profile

What you'll bring

Years of experience: Minimum of two years commercial experience as a Graphic Designer or a similar role Type of education: BA Hons degree (or equivalent) in Graphic Design or a related subject Type of professional experience: Minimum of two years of commercial experience. This could be previous experience in a Graphic Design role or a related job. Freelance work will also be considered as professional experience. A mixture of freelance work and employment within a company will also be considered as professional experience.

  • You have a good working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign. You may have knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Microsoft PowerPoint. You may also have knowledge of film editing, and html writing.
  • Your work demonstrates how design principles can be used to effectively highlight key messages and produce a holistically sound piece of visual communication
  • You’re curious and ask questions to get the correct information to do the best work you can
  • You manage English at a professional level (verbal/ writing) and you are able to have a fluent and accurate conversation
  • You can read and work with Chinese text to formulate a culturally appropriate piece of visual communication
  • You use effective listening skills and can share information and ideas clearly and concisely in oral and written form
  • You can manage your time over multiple projects
  • You’re friendly, approachable, and helpful
  • You are flexible and proactive

  • You enjoy focusing on one element of production
  • You insist on making your work pixel-perfect
  • You only want to work with designers and other creatives
